This article discusses one of the fragments of the lexical system of the French language – the origin of terms denoting military ranks in the armed forces of France. The etymological analysis is carried out in close connection with the concrete historical situation which gave rise to the need of such language units. The author outlines the practical basis of the comparative study of the ways of lexical designation of ranks in the major European languages, including Russian.

According to the article a retrospective analysis of 100 case histories of patients diagnosed with peritonitis, treatment in the first surgical department of Road Clinical Hospital on Krasnoyarsk station for the period from 2006 to 2009 it was found that the maximum number of patients with peritonitis are people from 19 to 36 years old (46%), in 2008 the peak incidence of peritonitis (40%) was observed. The research of the etiology incidence of peritonitis was made. It was established that one of the main etiological factors in the development of this disease is acute appendicitis abscess.

The article presents the method of case-study. The use of this method, could have a positive effect on speech training of students, due to the consideration of real-life situations. According to the authors the main goal of this method is to receive knowledge and to improve them during practice.

The article considers content-based links between the concepts of «civilization» and «culture» in the Russian and English languages. The purpose of the study is comparing their content-based components in the lexical semantic fields of verbalization of the concepts under consideration in the Russian and English languages. The research employs the method of cognitive comparative analysis. The analysis of lexical and semantic composition reveals similarities and differences in their structuring in the English and Russian languages. According to the author the result of comparison suggests implications that the concepts under study are perceived differently by the representatives of the Russian and English cultures and contributes to the revelation of national peculiarity of conceptualization of cognate phenomena in the mentality of different peoples.

This disease is widespread, however, Russia occupies a leading place in the list of detected cases of Oncology. Cancer is poorly expensive treatment, and the mortality rate is much higher than the level of a fully cured. This problem requires a lot of attention and health services, and most of the population to their own health and life.

В статье рассматриваются подходы к изучению феномена одиночества представителями различных научных школ и направлений. Представлены результаты эмпирического исследования семантического пространства понятия «одиночество» с использованием контент-анализа, выявлена разная реакция на состояние одиночества в зависимости от гендерной принадлежности.
